Hello everyone
Way back before Giles was running this list (to show you how long I have
been mostly lurking) there was a discussion of camera bags. As I recall,
the ones recommended were the Domke A6, the LowePro Nova 3, and and/or
one of the many Pelican rigid cases.
I've decided that I will be best off with a good-sized Pelican (probably
the 1550) to keep all of my Oly stuff in and one of the other cases for
traveling/walking and other temporary situations where the cumbersome
Pelican is not appropriate.
So, my questions are-
1. Does anyone have any updated advice on "soft" camera bags? Any other
models which have worked out well for your needs?
2. What color Pelican should I get? I was planning on getting a black one,
but then I read some stuff by Ansel Adams where he indicated quite firmly that
a black case would be a mistake, primarily because the contents would get
very hot if the case were left out in the sun. Not wanting to cook my gear
on the rare occasion that I am outside in the sun (I live in New England
after all!) I am now considering a grey one instead. Any thoughts?

PS If anyone cares, my position on the PVT issue is that you, Paul, should
cease the "we have x" messages to the list. You have a great deal to offer
whether you know it or not in terms of your experiences at camera shows,
How prices or availability of gear has changed over time, questions on
specific gear (does the 300mm Zuiko focus beyond infinity? etc) and so
forth. Please stay here on the list, and make your focused sales pitches
to individuals. I for one have visited your page several times since you
joined us and am very glad you are out there as a more or less complete
Olympus supplier.
PPS As far as Giles post on John H-I direct my business to him not because
of his contributions to the list but because of how those contributions have
helped me out.
