Go for it Gary.
My favourite is the Sigma 16mm with integral filters. Haven't printed
larger than 6 x 4 or used transparencies with the lens so can say nothing
about quality/resolution. Looks great on 6 x 4 - normal super-wide
distortion, handles very well, and has lens cap which simulates a fish eye
view. Mine is the older version.
Have some great portraits taken with this lens......
