The CDS-meter in the finder does nothing for the exposure in AUTO mode,
it´s just an indicator for the expected shutter time.
The meter for AUTO is switched on automaticly with the mirror moving up.
It´s a SBC and looks in direction to the film plane, first on the
patterned shutter curtain and for exposures longer 1/60 on the film.
The length of the longest exposure time is determined by the ASA dial.
As lower the ASA number as longer the maximum exposure (true for all
automatic OM-bodys).
This is true too for the AUTO OFF mode, all speeds in the manual are
given for ASA 100.
When you use ASA 25 film, you will get longer AUTO OFF mode exposures.
