Fellow Olympians!

I have received only 20 responses voting on my questions so far, but I
understand that there are more than 100 members on this list. In order for
our petition to be effective, the majority should send in their personal
preferences. I know the last question might be hardest to answer, but
please name only one feature. As far as that question is concerned,
everyone is limited to one vote. One individual can buy more than one
camera, which is fine.

The questions are:

1. Which one of the new OM bodies (OM reissues with possibly a few new
features, one under $500, one ca. $700, and an OM-5 under $1500) would you
buy in the next 2-5 years? Just one or two or all three? (You have to ask
your own pocketbook and your buying habit.)

2.Would you like to have an autofocusing OM-x? (Be honest. You don't need
to be realistic here.)

3. Would you be willing to have a somewhat larger OM body so that several
new features may be accommodated?

4. What is the single most important feature of the OM body that you would
like to see retained? Please narrow your preferences down to the single
feature. I will not count those votes with two items here.

Before I send off anything, I will present the tally and my list of all the
nice OM-x features presented. If anyone has his/her version of the opening
statement for this petition, you can send it to me or to the list.

Your ballot (?) does not need to be sent to the list; I can receive your
e-mail ballot if you have a secret desire to own an autofocus OM-x or other
unusual answers to the questions. I have created two mailboxes
specifically for this project, one for wish lists and the other for your
votes, so I am ready to receive a huge number.

To those OM bargain-hunting Olympians! Even if your answer to the question
1 is none, you may vote on the rest of the questions. If any of our OM
dreams is realized, sooner or later you might get to buy one secondhand. I
have seen a few used 3Tis and 35-80mm/2.8s advertised in Japanese photo
magazines. It seems that it is much harder to spot a used 24mm/4.5 shift.
I would suspect that once owned, the lens becomes permanently attached to a
person.

One last thing: I'll extend the deadline: 12:00 p.m.(noon) at your local
time on Tuesday, the 20th of January, 1998, but please don't wait until the
last minute.
