Olympiads,
I did see some "bargains" at the show. Now I consider myself a novice at
acquiring Olympus stuff (when compared with the likes of Gary Schloss : )).
This is what I saw. I wouldn't mind comments as to if I'm off base or right
on ( sort of at least) in regard to bargains. ( Dan Lau is looking for the
proverbial $100 OM1N with no foam problems!!!! Did you find one Dan? : ))
A Zuiko 85 f2 for $70. Kinda scruffy
Olympus Auto bellows w/cables and extra (??) OM1 ring attachment (what is
it for?) for $100
A 65 to 200 telephoto in the box("brand new" but no case) for $200
A "brand new" ...box and papers... OM4 for $600
On the none bargain side:
Quality Camera of Atlanta was selling a 21 f2 for $679 with no caps or
case. And a "dog" of a 180 f2.8 in the $600s. I could see dust inside the
front element and the outside was scruffy...tired looking. When I asked a
salesman what condition the 180 f2.8 was consider to be in I got an Alice
in Wonderland answer that is it not quite this nor that. Geez if I received
that mail order I would have been astonished that was ever considered
better that bargain.
Bargain? 1500 mm f11 lens for $1500.
