A question for those familiar with the EM-1 Mark II and later. My old
EM-5 had significant blurring due to "shutter shock." I got around this
by adding a 1/8 second delay between the shutter button press and the
actual picture. This was very frustrating when photographing people
unposed. They and their expressions do not stay still for 1/8 second.
This was a major reason for my upgrade.
The EM-1 ii has three shutter modes: Full mechanical, electronic first
curtain (called anti-shock), and all-electronic (silent). Based on my
reading, it appears to me that anti-shock with zero delay is the sweet
spot for most uses. The electronic first curtain (anti-shock) eliminates
or largely mitigates the shutter shock issue, but is not as vulnerable
to "rolling shutter" distortions of the all-electronic (silent) mode.
And with zero delay, the EM-1 is now a viable "decisive moment" camera.
Even more so with the "Pro Capture" feature.
EM-1 and OM-1 users, any additional insights?
