Thanks for that comparison, Jim.

The “Auto” button in Capture One is adjustable to control several different 
parameters in any combination you like.  After watching several tutorials and 
webinars I’ve taken to using it solely for auto levels, and not every time at 
that.

For instance here’s a Capture One webinar with Joe McNally; I had not heard of 
him before watching this, and he’s not the deftest of operators of software, 
but his thoughts about lighting and colour were interesting and entertaining.
