The lack of sufficient winter rain has left me wanting of desert spring
wildflower photos, but I do have a few cultivated varieties blooming in my

Yesterday while cycling I encountered a yard with a couple of Blue
Hibiscus (Alyogyne huegelii) shrubs:

It's very attractive and drought tolerant, though not frost hardy. I'm
considering adding this to the garden even though it's an Australian native.
