Interesting analysis and thanks for the suggestions on the
crop/mods--will implement them when get a chance.
I was time limited with these and didn't analyze the stack thoroughly
or clone out as many artifacts. There are always halos and other
artifacts and the feathering of the merged images can always be seen at
very close inspection. This is somewhat an adjustable parameter within
the software. My >20 image "Moose stack" is yet to be processed. I
try and make it easy for the software and have a hard edge onto which
it can latch easily. I should try the "pyramid method" of stacking to
avoid this limitation.

Big Foot announced in May 2001. Is that vintage/older glass already?
Not produced
since about 2007. Hard to find MTF data on FF but here is one set:

Big Foot's OOF super smooth transitions begin to lose the magic after
F5.6. The Zuiko 135 macro is a
super nice lens to use for this too and using a focusing rail vs the
helicoid --results in less alignment issues.
A gradual deep stack can fool the alignment part though the "strict
alignment" macro seems to fix much of it.

Bob thought the prints held up fine at 6X9 but I want them to hold up
on a large monitor at Moose scrutiny
level at some point.
