Yes I've looked at all the above including the dioptre. The mirror seemed
ok and so was the focussing screen (I changed it for another, etc.). It
seems to me to be the pentaprism. Reason being the previous owner admitted
that he had dropped his tripod head on the pentaprism before but he brought
the whole camera back to Olympus for it to be replaced. I can only guess
that
when that was done, it wasn't properly aligned.

This hasn't been a good day for me 'cos now my Canon EOS RT has a sticky
shutter problem. Don't want to know how much I have to spend on repairs
this week. Enough to turn me off "serious" photography and I only started
1 month ago.
