For my sins I used to do weddings back in the day, I'm in Ireland but I used a US based company called MyPhotobook, they produced very good quality work with a choice of leather, linen & standard cover binding, they also had options to include text in many fonts, they folded a few years back ( the company not the books)🙂, here's a company in Ireland that seem to do similar work. https://www.cewe.ie/

I have used Lulu.com in the past, Nathan. About 20 years ago. Quite
problems with the binding caused a re-run, but as far as I recall that was
done FOC.

I think the books came from Spain, as it happens.

Hi Nathan,

This is not exactly next door to you, but on several occasions (my own
wedding [I /wasn't/ the photographer], another wedding, and a photo/text
book of family photographs for my granddaughter), I have used Pikto in
Toronto, a high-end printing firm, and have been very pleased with the
results. But... I see no "international" sizes in their repertoire, the
closest would be 6x8.

Do take a quick look at <https://www.pikto.com/ca> if at all worth
considering, the top-level "Product Info & Pricing" page is
<https://www.pikto.com/ca/pricelist>. I'll give them a call today to ask
about printing from PDFs. If you had a specific question, I could follow
up with them.

Cheers,
Michael

I have in the past used Blurb to print my photo books. The service is
good for that. But now I have a different kind of book, a book where the
text is the important part and the photos are there just to illustrate. I
have it as Word file (native format) and an A5 PDF version that I have sent
to a local printing house here in Alicante. But their binding machine has
broken, and given that we have the Easter week coming up when nothing gets
done in Spain, I do not have high hopes of being able to print my book
there any time soon.
I was therefore wondering if there are services out there which would
allow me simply to upload a PDF and have it printed professionally. I would
prefer a service in Europe since the sizing standards are different in the
US, and so I would have to reformat the book for half letter size instead
of A5.
I know that Blurb can in principle deal with uploaded PDFs, but having
read the instructions I am not keen on dealing with the complications.
TIA,
Nathan
