I’ve had a training of sorts Chris, thanks for your concern :-)
I used to be able to also operate an (iron) lathe, a milling machine, or a
grinder, on top of a, shaper?
The funny thing is that after all these years, I still « feel » how the tool
will react. Just as with a car you’ve long owned and driven, and also probably
a jet-fighter ...
The really dangerous part is when you 'climb saw', if I may adapt to a chainsaw
what is called climb milling on the milling machine, i.e. when you use the top
of the blade and get pushed rather than drawn by it. Good balance is vital.
