First, on the work side...
At the last minute, the client decided to not renew my contract
because of an issue with the vendor. That put me in a bad situation,
but we're hopefully going to land really quickly on the next one.
However, I may have a forced relocate to Maryland. Not really my
desire, but we'll see. I wanted the west-coast assignment, but was
told that I'm far to senior (knowledge and skill, not age) for that
position. I can be dumber if they need me to be.
On the play side of things, my nephew was in town last week and we did
a ton of hiking and photography. I've got another 3000 images to
process. :)
On the computer side of things, to help with the processing, I have
this MacBook Pro. Pretty impressive. Overall, I'd say that the speed
of Lightroom and image handling is about 5x faster than what I've been
using. I'd call that a win.
It'll take me a bit to get assimilated by the Borg, but I'm not too
disgruntled with the archaic Apple OS.
