Moose, I think it comes from early biases.  During the great depression of the 1930s, all I ever saw were B&W photos.  When I starting shooting in the early 1950s, I shot both ASA 10 Kodachrome and ASA 50 Plus-X.  Liked 'em both, but, good B&W always had draw for me.
