As to the demise of a darkroom, machts nichts to me. All the darkroom stuff has always just blown by over my head, with
no impact. Ctein is a bigger noise in custom printing than you. First he dropped doing dye transfer, then dismantled his
darkroom, replacing it with a printer room, half bath, book and magazine storage and a spare room. Very nice new
basement, perfect printer room, with color balanced lighting, huge work table, storage, etc.
He hasn't looked back. He's doing tonally gorgeous B&W on the big Epson. I'm
looking at a wonderful IR print as I write.
