Wow! I really like #4, the B&W skyline with the stratus
clouds. Quite a marked contrast with the colour version of #3.
Well, I like it a lot, too
BUT - is it fair?
An illustrated apologia for color:
<http://www.moosemystic.net/Gallery/Others/Swiss/XXT24375.htm>
1. The original, downsized to allow those with less than huge screens
to see the roll-overs.
2. High altitude UV has made everything too blue. White Balanced.
3. Take the color away, and what have we got? The same image without
color; kinda blah, and a fair comparison to the original.
4. Ian's B&W conversion. Wow! Beautifully processed within a few
centimeters of it's life. Silver Efex, I'm guessing.
5. Ian's conversion, with the color magically returned. At least a bit
of Wow, no? At the very least, a different fair Color to B&W comparison.
I rather like both. For my wall, it'd probably be color. But I'm
mostly a color guy, and can understand why others would go for B&W. I
wouldn't throw one away. :-)
