I think what I was doing was actually a reasonable approach and I was
not disruptive. I did take notes on my laptop and even typed out some
of the instructions. But the issue for me is that my brain is no
longer able to multitask INPUT, PROCESS and OUTPUT at the same time.
While I'm writing, I'm not able to hear and interpret what is coming
in. So, it's important to me to "time delay" either the input or the
output.

Not sure if I ever really had that ability to do simultaneous
input/process/output. Sure, to some extent, yes, I can, but it really
depends on the pace of the information and how much I have to write.
If the instructor is diagramming something, I can do that right along
with the instructor. But if it's just a bunch of words, that's a tough
call because I'm dyslexic in not only reading but writing. Combined
with about a 30% hearing loss as a child, I have to concentrate more
on the listening side.

Which brings me to something that really bugs me.

Dante was wrong. There is a 10th circle of hell - Diagramming Sentences.
