The 90 is a great portrait lens and your portraits of Cheeta and the cats
are wonderful.

Might you be confusing formats?
90 mm is indeed a classic portrait FL on FF. On the Fuji version of APS-C, it
has the same AoV as 135 mm on FF.
So yes, well captured, but with a short tele more appropriate for smaller creatures that may also have to be
photographed from farther away.
The classic close-in portrait lens for the Fujis is 55-60 mm, and for µ4/3,
42.5-45 mm, eq. to 85-90 mm on FF.
