Tina, that is such a horrible situation. I don't know what to recommend.

But it does point out a particular problem that I've had with shooting
weddings. I learned how to shoot a wedding on three, that's right
THREE rolls of 36 exposure film. If you didn't nail the shot the first
and only time, you didn't get it at all. Honestly, it wasn't often
that I missed a shot, though. For my own weddings, I upped it to five,
then ten rolls of film. Much more editing... Then digital came along.
3000 pictures per wedding, and all I am doing for the next two weeks
is editing. You spend half your life trying to find the best of five
identical shots. And then after figuring out which was the best of
those five, then you select the best of the 20 similars. It just
doesn't end.

May I suggest that you turn the AF off on the SL and just go back to
manual focusing.
