I think what Chris was hinting at is that it could be hurricane strength
by the time it hits Long Island. But I've been through a Category 1 on
Long Island many years ago. Not too bad but stay inside. I was
attending an IBM seminar at the old Guggenheim Mansion on Sands Point,
LI. We were told that as a class we could vote to stary or leave before
the hurricane hit. We all agreed that the old mansion (finished in 1912
and built like a castle) had probably already survived a few hurricanes
so we stayed.
