While the result of the US election may affect me directly or indirectly I
have no way to influence the outcome so I would prefer to hear NOTHING about
it on this list - I already get too much info via the nightly TV news.

As a self labeled List Mom at various times, I think (hope) you are stuck
keeping it off line. And personally, I would very much appreciate that.
If you MUST do something, and think both that you can change minds here, AND
that it will make a difference in any campaign outcome ... You could create
a US mailing list from the list member list, send a request to be talked up
to all of us and delete those who opt out, before actual proselytization.
