| This one seems to have its own calendar. Every year, it is in full
blaze for Halloween. This year it seems a few days earlier than most
years. Last year I shot a red branch on 10/29/2014.

Wow! There's no question about the color is there. On a slightly
related note I've been surprised to see the South Carolina maples
changing color not too much behind their northern brethren. That
despite the fact that the coldest night so far was about 48F and
didn't last long. The trees must also respond to the length of day or
perhaps that's the primary driver.

My red maple tree has reached full color, but the rain is taking a toll

on the ground.
