The other day I went back to South Philly with my daughter to visit a
jewellery/piercing shop on South 6th Street and to have lunch at the Blackbird
vegan restaurant which is a truly great place to eat.
While I was waiting for Monica, I walked around the neighbourhood a bit. A
small alley called Kater Street caught my eye because of the wall paintings and
mosaics:

At a certain point this guy emerged from his house and we had a little chat. He
told me that most of the mosaics were made by his father, and he agreed to pose
for me in front of one of them:

A most pleasant encounter in what is becoming one of my favourite urban
neighbourhoods in the US.
