I didn't get a picture of it as we were hunkered down with both
vehicles tucked inside the garage from the hail, but we had a tornado
about five miles away. It was a really pretty one, a perfect
stove-pipe. It stayed on the ground for a long time, but didn't travel
very far. This was one of the slowest moving supercells I've ever
seen. It centered on us, but the tornado was off on one of the limbs.
It wiped out a couple of farm fields and destroyed one farmstead, so
we all did pretty well.
I could have actually seen the tornado from our yard, but we had so
much close lightning that I didn't go outside. Figured that doing a
Ben Franklin with my Bogen tripod wasn't such a good idea.
