I hear what you are saying Moose. They stuck their neck out. However I
think your analogy of the raging river or train wreck misses the mark.
Obviously these right wing nutters are not inanimate objects however
much the stuff between their ears might resemble it. No one could argue
that a response to the pen with a gun could ever be appropriate. I
salute the ones with the cajones to stand for me. I can think of a few.
Edward Snowden to Charles Dodgson. I an reminded of this quote by Martin
Niemöller:
“First they came for the socialists, and I didn't speak out because I
wasn’t a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn’t
speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist. Then they came for the
Jews, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew. Then they came for
me, and there was no one left to speak for me.”
