OTT: the Manhattan pano was shot from a moving boat - and you may guess that a tripod would have been useless under the windy and wavy shooting conditions - force 3 to 4 if I trust this source https://www.unc.edu/ ~rowlett/units/scales/beaufort.html

Why bother with a tripod? except indoors perhaps?
