McIntosh hasn't been a US-owned company in many years. So, kind of a moot
point.  Most of their product goes overseas probably. The asian crowd
seems to love that stuff.

Quad (british) for example, manufactures their cheap line in China, but
their better speakers elsewhere, I think.  Cheaper to manufacture closer
to where it will be sold than ship it over later, which is why Honda, BMW,
etc. manufacture cars in the US. Likewise for things like speakers, etc.
