But it does look as though his ND3 filter is working.

The T-32 is a bit too powerful to be used as a macro flash. I've been

used down to 1 foot. It attaches to the nose of the lens so that light is even

Be careful when shopping for ring flashes as many of them are actually
ring lights and not flashes.

Recalled that the T32 in TTL or normal auto can only get so close as
can't send the quench signal fast enough. I suspect it depends
on which cam as well in TTL but have never read anything exact accept
what is in the T32 manual. For kicks when I tried it on digital at
about 1:2 mag on a 125 macro, the normal auto mode it
waaaay overexposed. I had thought that in part due to the angle of
acceptance being 20 deg or so for the flash metering with a distant
background. The flash doesn't know anthing about the real FOV of course
in normal auto mode. Then last summer for kicks put the 3 stop ND
filter that comes with the set of filters for the T32 and the metering
wasn't half bad--within a stop or so in many circumstances and not
really that different than ETTL that requires FEC anyway. So I was
mostly wrong and the speed of quench signal was the major issue.

I don't have a macro flash bracket except the Lepp II which is great
for OM but it won't easily hold a big flash.
So how close can the T32 get in normal auto with the ND filter? It
gets complicated with light lost due to extension etc. Perhaps I've
rediscovered the wheel. Suspect this differs in TTL on OM and probably
dpends on which cam as well. Not sure why I did't try putting a ND
filter on it before. The flash time must be longer and allows
time for a proper quench signal. The T32 is much lighter to lug around
for hours obviously. Wish it had a few more auto choices though.
