In brief, GE sells its railway signal business to Alstrom in exchange for
three joint ventures with Alstrom's power grid business, renewable operations,
and nuclear steam turbines.
Could be a shrewd move as Alstrom increases its prominence in the railway
business sector. I would like to see them gain a strong foothold here in the
US railway business so as to drag us into the 21st century, even if it would be
kicking and screaming all the way.
