This is sad. The code talkers were made to wait far too long for the
recognition and respect they deserved. Am right at the edge of the Navajo
Nation at the moment (Aztec, NM). Not far from here, in Kayenta, AZ, at a
Burger King restaurant of all places, there is one of the few public
memorials to the code talkers.
This reminds me that I should probably make a point to visit an old Navajo
friend of my wife's family while I am here...
