I will admit that it is facially ironic, but it's more a matter of freely
thinking, awareness, and adapting to unfamiliar situations, but certainly not
adopting Thompson's peculiar method(s) of self-destruction, up to and including
his suicide by handgun. He was an unfortunate character who was fun to read
(Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) but not a lifestyle role model.
