I have to agree.  I just took a close look at the FTL user's manual and 
did a detailed comparison to my SRT-101.  There are lots of details that 
are extremely similar, possibly even identical.  In particular the 
advance lever, rewind knob, eyepiece frame and self-timer lever.  But 
the SRT-101 dates from 1966.  Perhaps a later SRT would be even closer 
to the FTL which dates from 1970.
