Hi Chris,  I have a Cokin holder (P size) and one circ polariser so it
could have been economic to try such a solution - and presumably with
different orthogonal orientations I'd get a couple of different filter
'strengths'.  But for now Iwert has offered me a Hoya variable one to try
so I've contacted him off-list to arrange the 'purchase'.
