I've got an Androidy Google phone with a pretty decent camera in it.
But my wife's Galaxy S3 has a really good camera in it. I think she's
about to finally give up on her Kodak digital P&S that I gave her for
Christmas about 10 years ago.

The problem I find with the cell-phone images (including the
iThingies) is the blown highlights. They're getting better, but it's
usually a thing where if you shoot in a bright scene, the camera will
underexpose to protect the highlights and then boost the exposure up
in the processing engine which gives it funky shadows. But I really
dislike the glass cover they have over the lenses. Big time flare
potential and a fingerprint magnet.

Yet, I myself have gone to shooting with the phone as my pocket
camera. I was using the phone for a lot of more serious stuff too,
because of the upload capability, but I've circled back to the DSLR
with the Eye-Fi card.
