I did switch to wearing running shoes to the office lately. I've been
running lately and those shoes have been working out pretty well for
me. Getting a little roll to the inside going in them now, but they
held up longer than I expected--given my weight and general dumpy
condition. But the shoes do help make me look at least marginally
professional around here.
However, I do spend most opportunities wearing the sandals. The
snowstorm we got while you were slumming it in Hawaii was the end to
the outdoor wear. Socks look a little dorky and would get wet in the
snow which would make the toes a little cold. On the long commute, I'm
barefoot.
The sandals are great because it's so quick to put them on and take
them off (Velcro) that if there is something photogenic that requires
my getting out of the car, I can address that easily enough.
Unfortunately, this time of year, I'm coming and going in the dark.
Shorts are another story. Can't wear them at the office, but
everywhere else. But running tights do help when it's a bit chilly
out.
