But, as a doubting Thomas does it not strike you as odd that the only 
positive correlation between cholesterol and heart disease is a very 
weak one and then only for middle-aged men?  How is it that cholesterol 
is not a risk factor for women of any age and is protective for men and 
women both above a certain age?  And why is it that your doctor doesn't 
seem to know this?  Must be he only reads certain drug company sponsored 
research... if he reads any at all.  And it's almost a given that he 
doesn't understand the statistics bandied about even if he does so.
