Just to compare country choices etc.
My daughter is looking at buying this Surf.

It's nearly the best model Surf they have ever put out (the 1997 is best) for
reliability, power, economy and versatility. Later ( much more recent) models
are quite unable to cope with stream crossings (electric immersions) and the
like. And this is very low mileage (even if it is in Km's) ! It looks very
tidy.
They are not being imported from Japan any more (NZ is one of the
countries which imports a lot of used Japan vehicles); for reasons to do with
emissions, the Gov't now allows only vehicles more recent than (about -
guessing) 2004. So this model and the 1997 models hold their value very
well.
