I don't have the Zuiko (which is very highly rated for mirrors) but your 
mention of the Zuiko reminds me that I do have an Orion 500/5.6.  This 
lens was primarily sold as a spotting scope but is designed to take a 
T-adapter so can be used photographically as well.

I've only ever used it once as a lens and was disappointed by its poor 
showing on contrast.  Actually, that's not terribly surprising given 
that it's an f/5.6 which means larger secondary mirror, more diffraction 
and lower contrast.  But what I have never done is try it on the 5D. 
Fixing the contrast problem in digital post processing should be easy. 
I don't mean to steal this thread but wonder if anyone has used post 
processing to fix contrast problems with mirror lens shots.  The Zuiko's 
high rating includes high contrast for a mirror lens.  But my Orion is 
hardly the only mirror lens to suffer from low contrast.
