OpenOffice works fine for me. WIndows, Mac and Linux versions. Reads and
rights (no that's not a typo, exactly) Microsoft Office files when needed
for compatibility, exports PDFs if all someone has to do is read your work.
$0. Regularly updated and enhanced.
