I'm going to get cynically philisophical for a moment: "That's their
problem!"

Since getting serious about photography I've always been just slightly
outside the mainstream with my equipment choices. Have there been
disadvantages to that? Absolutely. Have there been other advantages?
Absolutely. The point is, I've made my choices and I live with the
consequences.

So, what we have here is a bunch of people who have selected computer
products slightly outside the mainstream for the distinct advantages
of being able to run a specific set of software solutions with the
perceived advantages that those specific system choices provide. It
turns out that specific "system" of hardware/software may no longer be
the "king of the hill" and even now has distinct disadvantages when it
comes to printing. Another hardware/software solution is absolutely
superior for certain applications and printing.

What each of must decide is "what price we must pay" to continue to
use the system of our choice. This is true for cameras as it is for
hardware/software.

Our "Mac Friends" running the latest variations of Photoshop are
encountering specific issues in regards to printing. If these issues
finally get serious enough, then these individuals will finally make
the choice of purchasing another system. What I am saying is that
another solution DOES exist and if the pain gets bad enough the smart
individuals will change.

For many years, the Mac/PS solution was the defacto-standard. But in
the grand history of photography, that period of time is miniscule.
Mac/PS is no longer the only or "best" game in town, but what has
happened is too many people have spent too much money and time using
it that there is a failure to recognize that the right time to bail
has possibly passed. Technologies and brands rise and fall--this
current combination is destined to do the same. It's up to the smart
individuals to know when to switch.
