One of the comments earlier was the suggestion (or recommendation) that
people get their own web sites. I know quite a number on the list have
their websites for all sorts of reasons, which is fine.

I have no real interest in setting up a website (been there, done that,
when I designed, set up and managed a site for our work group, a
significant undertaking given Government of Canada policies and fully
bilingual requirements). So, some hosting site, whether Flikr or
something else is all I'm interested in. Starting from scratch, I used
Flickr because it was there and free.

I use Yahoo for its camera related email lists on subjects other than
Olympus. I have a Flickr account because it was a requirement to
participate in a local photo related event. But even though I had a
Yahoo account I still had to sign-up to at least activate the Flickr
account (which has gone unused since the photo event concluded)

I have a Google account but don't use Google for anything but news, maps
and language translation.
