I thought you might be interested.  When I was in the USAF at 
Wright-Patterson AFB in 1951-1953, the AF was running up the time on several 
T-28A aircraft by essentially flying them around the clock.  I suppose they 
were finding all of the bugs before introducing them into service.  The AF 
version engine and prop had sort of a rattling sound, reminding me of the 
USAF B-25 Mitchell bomber.

The Navy version had a larger engine, so it probably sounds different.

The engines were Wright radials, and the props were Hamilton Standard.
