I have this lens and  have a similar problem with the back of the first
group.  I have cleaned it a couple of times and believe that the cause is
lubrication misting in the lens.  Last time I checked it was about $75 to
clean at the Tokina Center which is about 2 hrs away from me.  I plan to
take it down there but something always comes up either with the time
factor or money one.  As to the seperation in the other elements I don't
have that problem.  Knock on wood (head) John
