Chuck, as we've discussed this exhibition quality B&W printing before, I do
not doubt the level of quality in the least. However, several thoughts:
1. Extremely expensive equipment with high-end calibration and RIP.
2. Quality source file
3. Quality photographer.

and most importantly:

4. No comparative image using an alternative technology.

I have seen some excellent digital B&W prints. However, without a baseline
reference (of which Ilford PanF on FB-Glossy is one), everything is
relative.

I still maintain that the primary difference between digital and film has
little to do with the main straight-line section of the response curves, but
the shoulder and toe response. I love how the film and paper work together
(and hate how certain films and papers don't) in the darkroom to give
wonderful tones and transitions as well as that dreaded "micro-contrast"
which digital struggles with.
