Wyoming is mostly in wind zone 5-7 and is the 7th windiest state in the US with
a growing wind industry. About 300+ 1-1.5 megawatt turbines are either
installed or in the planning stages for my county (Albany County Wyoming) The
county size is about 45 miles East to West, and 100+ miles North to South
almost all in a very high wind zone. Local altitude is 2200meters (7250feet),
with mountains on East at 2500meters and West at 3700 meters (12,000+ feet).
Annual average wind speed is 6mps + (12+mph). I am in the permitting process
of installing a 1Kw vertical axis wind turbine on my building. The turbine
can be seen at: http://www.tangarie.com . My wife is the Wyoming distributor
for these in our "green" store.

That doesn't seem to bad!
I got to check if we, my employer, has anything installed. If so, I
guess it will need a software update.:)
