Andrew,
 That reminds me of what happened to a now retired coworker of mine. He 
suffered from prostate cancer. The treatment he underwent included having 
radiaoactive pellets embedded near the prostrate gland.
 The Secret Service was not entertained when he went on a White House tour. 
I believe it took about 4 hours and many questions before he was released.
 Best wishes with your surgery and hopes for a speedy recovery.
