I'm sure you're correct if he is doing a straight file copy which will
ignore any indications of file type or content. However, if he's using
some sort of Windows photo handler to download it may very well ignore
all file types that it doesn't know about. I just tried to get the
Windows (XP) photo viewer to display a Canyon CR2 raw file. It's only
response it to tell me there's "no preview available". Windows has this
silly notion that photo icons want to be thumbnails of the images. That
won't always work. But I've never tried to let the Windows photo loader
download my images (and I'm not about to) so I don't know the answer.
