Thank you very much for the responses - I feel very welcome.
Zuikoholism is a very apt description! I think my wife Allison has
identified the symptoms of the condition early as she confessed she is
looking at buying me a book for Christmas - something about the
history of the OM system and photographers who have used it...
I will follow up on the lead that Wayne passed through for the
specialist in Melbourne. It would be really nice to have the meter on
my OM-1 working, as it is totally pristine otherwise (a very lucky
eB*y purchase) - would be handy being able to use the silver oxide
batteries too as Chuck & Moose suggested.
Re: the silver brick Allison is holding... yes, she is well down the
Canon path. I'm trying to convince her that her next model should be
at least a 5D (full frame sensor), so I can try it out with my Zuiko
lenses..
