Depends on your ultimate needs. The Viiv stuff is intel's DRM chipset -
there are certain websites with viewable content that have gotten into
bed with Intel - you can ONLY view the content if the player detects the
Viiv garbage. If you don't, like 90% of the world, you're screwed. I
believe that certain media-related software titles are also in bed with
Intel for the same reason.
To the best of my knowledge, performance is the same either way.
