Bring it On
Must I now while away my dwindling nights
Locked in various and sundry doggerel fights
Which must rhyme, or will I be allowed
To slip elegantly into blank verse
Or at the least, terse bastard rhymes?
To imagine that this strange, bold strategem
Will calm the waters, reduce the mayhem
Is at best a triumph of rose-tinged hopes
When bickering with ancient misanthropes.
Disputes over soya beans, taxes and biofuels
Lend expert knowledge to we ignorant fools
Who, not being children, can simply decide
To read, filter, delete or even chide
The miscreants who, awaiting a query
On Oly's fine products, object to a theory
Claimed by another as clearly a fact
And respond with messages lacking in tact.
